Risk Disclosure
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Trading foreign exchange, commodities, indices, and cryptocurrencies on margin carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You could lose more than your initial investment. Please read this disclosure carefully before using any EA developed by EA Forge.
1. Software Only - Not Financial Advice
EA Forge is a software development company. We are paid to write code, and nothing else.
Every Expert Advisor we deliver implements a trading strategy that was supplied by the client who commissioned it, in writing, and approved by that client before coding began. We do not originate trading logic. We do not evaluate, test, tune or express an opinion on whether a client's strategy is likely to make money.
We do not provide investment advice, trading recommendations, research, strategy design, trading signals, fund or portfolio management, or any other service that involves telling anyone what or when to trade. We are not registered as an investment adviser or research analyst in any jurisdiction, and we do not hold ourselves out as one. Nothing on this website, in any quote, in any email from us, or in any EA we deliver is a recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument.
2. We Do Not Publish Performance Figures
We do not advertise profit factors, win rates, returns, drawdown figures or equity curves anywhere on this site, and we do not supply backtest or optimisation reports as a deliverable. This is deliberate. We do not run the strategies we code, so we have no results of our own to report, and results belonging to a client are theirs - not a sales claim we are entitled to make.
If you choose to run your own tests in MetaTrader's Strategy Tester, please understand what such tests can and cannot tell you:
- Historical performance does not guarantee future results
- Backtests cannot fully account for slippage, liquidity gaps, broker re-quotes, or spread widening during news events
- Market conditions change; a strategy that tested well historically may not perform in future
- Tuning parameters until past results improve is curve-fitting, and it frequently performs poorly live
These are your tests, your interpretation, and your decision.
3. Automated Trading Risks
Automated trading systems carry specific risks beyond manual trading:
- Software bugs or unexpected market conditions may cause unexpected behaviour
- Internet connectivity failures, VPS downtime, or broker platform issues can disrupt EA operation
- EAs operate 24/5 and may open/close positions at any time without human oversight
- Leverage amplifies both gains and losses - small market moves can cause large account drawdowns
4. High-Risk Instruments
Many EAs are developed for high-risk instruments such as XAUUSD (Gold), major forex pairs, cryptocurrency CFDs, and indices. These instruments can experience extreme volatility, especially during economic data releases, geopolitical events, or low-liquidity sessions.
5. Division of Responsibility
By commissioning an EA from EA Forge, you acknowledge that:
- The trading strategy is yours. You specified it; we did not design it or recommend it
- You are responsible for deciding whether that strategy is suitable for you
- You are responsible for the settings you choose (lot size, stop loss, risk per trade, and so on)
- You are responsible for testing on a demo account before risking real money
- You understand the risks of automated trading and will not risk money you cannot afford to lose
- The decision to run the EA on a live account is yours alone
What we are responsible for is the code: that it does what your approved specification says. If it does not, tell us and we will fix it free of charge. What the strategy does in the market is not something we control, or could control, and we accept no responsibility for trading losses.
6. Regulatory Note
EA Forge does not hold, and does not claim to hold, any financial services licence or registration in any jurisdiction. We are a software development service and our work is limited to writing code to a client's written specification.
You are responsible for ensuring that running automated trading software is permitted under the laws and regulations that apply to you, and under your broker's terms of service. Rules differ significantly between countries; if you are unsure, take your own advice before proceeding.
7. Seek Professional Advice
If you are uncertain about the risks of trading or whether automated trading is suitable for you, please seek advice from a licensed financial adviser before proceeding.
